And their fathers. This past Monday, AG Jeff Sessions announced that the official policy of the USG is to separate children from the parents of families caught crossing the border without documents.

Small children. Toddlers taken away to be held in frigid detention without their mothers and their fathers.

Detention centers are like prisons. Sometimes literal prisons. Kafka prisons where you don’t know how long you’ll be there.

This is where our government is putting children, separate from their parents.

It’s hard to write about this. We know who in history did such evil.

Slaveholders and traders separated children. Sold them.

SS men separated children. Killed them.

What is being done in our names will inflict trauma that will be passed down for generations. Who in our government will stand up to Trump, Kelly, and the cheering Border Patrol guards now free to do pretty much what they please? Tell me, please. All of this blood is on our hands as Americans, regardless of whether or not we support Trump. The generations to follow will only ask one question:

How did you let this happen?
